I Buy Furniture For the Dog

I bought a chair and ottoman. The chair will be delivered, by furniture delivery truck, some time in May. The ottoman was delivered by UPS today.

It is deemed acceptable.

This was not how I invisioned my life.

In ancient Rome, whenever a general had a great military victory, he would come back to Rome and have a "triumph," a big public parade in which all his loot and slaves and captives were paraded before the public and he (the general) was made a big deal of.

The general would be followed closely by a functionary whose job was to whisper in his year "You are mortal. You are mortal." So the general wouldn't get a big head.

Your dog is simply reminding you of your place in the Universe, Maureen.

Kathy! Yes! It's true! And she's very good at it.

But Shelly looks so content! I think any ottoman that makes Shelly content must be a good ottoman indeed.

I look forward to sharing the ottoman with her at some point, because that is exactly the sort of seat I would choose for myself. With a cup of tea and a stack of magazines. [grin]
